MEAC Announces Policy on NCAA Postseason BansWritten By: Associated Press Release: 08/10/2012 www.meacsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=20800&ATCLID=205577314The MEAC announced that team's ineligible to compete in NCAA postseason activities will not be eligible to compete for the conference's regular season championship title in the specific sport. In addition, the ineligible teams' head coach will not be allowed to win the Coach of the Year honor for regular season competition and their teams will not earn points towards the conference's All-Sports tally during the ineligible season. All MEAC games will be counted towards the overall conference standings despite the team's postseason eligibility. An ineligible team will not be considered the conference's regular season champion if the team finished with the best overall MEAC record. The title will be awarded to the highest team eligible for postseason competition and earn the conference's automatic qualification to the NCAA playoffs.

I ain't losing any sleep over this. As I said before - this is year two under Broadway. We are not FCS playoff ready - so for me or anyone else to really be upset over an inability to compete in the playoffs in just 2 years is too premature. And even though we may not have a banner this year if we finish on the top of the standings.....EVERYONE IN THE MEAC WILL KNOW WHO THE BEST TEAM WAS THIS YEAR WHEN IT'S ALL SAID AND DONE.
I promise you, if we kick SCSU, FAMU, Norfolk in the teeth at home......as well as Central on the road....this will be a memorable season.

A&T may not be eligible for the MEAC championship but that will not stop A&T from being Nationally Ranked are Black college National Champs A lot of recruits look at the National Rankings more then they do a Conference championship anyway in the end But it is nice to have that ring So the kids do have something to play for (THAT BLACK COLLEGE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP BANNER ! IT'S OUT THEIR GUYS GO GET IT

GOOD LUCK TO THE AGGIES THIS SEASON! BUT IT IS STILL VERY SAD THAT A SCHOOL OF A&T'S CALIBER HAD SUCH A LOW ACADEMIC (FOOTBALL) RATING! IT'S JUST EMBARASSING THAT HAPPENED! HOPEFULLY THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN CORRECTED.
