GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T released its Signing Day class on Wednesday. In addition to the nine Aggies signed in December, A&T head football coach Vincent Brown and his staff added 13 names to the roster on Wednesday. The following is A&T's entire class as of today going into the 2024 season, including the December signees.
Reuben "RJ" Adams
(6-foot-4, 320, offensive line, Manassas, Va., Woodbridge, Lackawanna CC)
Coach Brown Breakdowns: "Adams will bring much experience and position flex to the offensive lineman room. He also brings physicality and leadership."
High School: Rivals ranked Adams a 4-star athlete in high school, positioning him as the No. 6 player in Virginia and the No. 12 guard in the nation. He attended Kentucky and Georgia Tech after school.
Thomas Brown
(6-3, 190, wide receiver, Wendell, NC, Ravenscroft, Butler University)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Brown is a big target that will bring depth and experience to the wide receiver room.
High School: He was a two-year starter at Ravenscroft, finishing his career ranked sixth all-time in receiving touchdowns. In addition, he earned All-State honors twice and was named team MVP and captain. He totaled eight touchdowns as a senior: six receiving, one rushing, and one return. The previous season, he posted 38 receptions for 508 yards and nine touchdowns. In one game, he had nine receptions for 174 yards and four touchdowns. He also played basketball and participated in track and field.
Michael Carlock-Williams
(6-4, 195, wide receiver, Jacksonville, NC, Jacksonville)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Michael brings size to the wide receiver group. He has route-running skills to get open versus man-to-man coverage. He has the elite ability to go and high-point the football. With his size and physicality, he will help in the run game with his blocking ability."
Daniel Coles
(6-1, 205, defensive back, Stafford, Va.)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "He is a big athlete who demonstrates a lot of ability on both sides of the ball."
High School: He earned a 3-star rating out of high school. He ranked 38th in Virginia and was considered one of the top 150 athletes in the nation.
Terrell Dudley
(6-0, 225, Linebacker, Tallahassee, Fla., Lincoln, Valdosta State)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Terrell was selected as a team captain his sophomore season and started as a true freshman at Valdosta. He is a high-motor, physical, explosive player who will bring great athleticism and leadership."
Valdosta: He made 116 tackles, including 5 ½ for loss and three sacks in his first 24 collegiate games.
Jodi Freeman
(6-6, 340, offensive line, Lumberton, NC, Purnell Swett)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "He has excellent footwork. His size will bring depth to the offensive line."
High School: He played in the North Carolina East-West All-Star Game and the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl in Dallas, Texas.
Justin Fomby
(6-4, 216, quarterback, Lawrenceville, Ga., Central Gwinnett, Houston Christian University)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Fomby has a big arm. He is also accurate and athletic. He is the third all-time leading passer in program history at Houston Christian."
Houston Christian: He completed 436 passes for 2,888 yards and 18 touchdowns. He had a passer rating of 141.2.
Timothy Hammonds
(6-5, 290, offensive line, Red Springs, NC, Red Springs)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Timothy brings a physicality to the offensive line room with a combination of speed and power."
High School: Hammonds earned honorable mention All-State honors. He also played in the North Carolina East-West All-Star game. He played basketball and baseball in high school as well.
Joshua Hardy
(6-4, 250, defensive lineman, Annapolis, Md., Annapolis Area Christian, Boston College)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Hardy adds size, athleticism and a pass rush ability to the defensive line room."
High School: Hardy was ranked a 3-star recruit out of high school. He was ranked 68th nationally, the No. 2 defensive end in Maryland, and 25th ranked player overall in the state.
Jacob Jenkins
(6-3, 315, defensive lineman, Lake Butler, Fla., Union County)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Jenkins brings size, toughness and run-stopping ability to A&T."
Chris Kinsey
(6-1, 280, defensive lineman, Clayton, NC, Clayton)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Kinsey brings athleticism, pass-rushing ability and a high motor to the defensive line.
High School: Kinsey participated in the Shrine Bowl and earned All-State accolades.
Cortez Lane
(5-11, 185, wide receiver, Columbia, SC, Cardinal Newman)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Cortez brings 4.4 speed (in the 40-yard dash) to the wide receiver group and in the kicking game with the loss of Taymon Cooke. He will replace him. He brings tremendous athleticism and toughness. We have big expectations for Cortez. We need more speed, and he brings that to the table."
High School: He rushed for 1,321 yards and 19 touchdowns on 101 carries as a senior. Lane posted 794 yards rushing on 90 carries as a junior and scored 10 TDs. He also caught 26 passes for 334 yards and three scores. Lane took offers from Chattanooga, Middle Tennessee and South Carolina State.
Cameron "Cam" Maddox
(6-1, 205, defensive back, Stallings, NC, Sun Valley/Cheshire Academy, Dartmouth University)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Maddox brings proven production and play-making ability. He has good size and physicality and will bring leadership to the Aggies defense."
High School: Before playing at Cheshire Academy, Maddox was an all-conference selection as a senior captain at Sun Valley in Monroe, NC. As a junior, he posted 73 tackles, five interceptions, and two blocked punts. He was also a national qualifier as a senior in track and field.
Benjamin "Tre" Mittman II
(5-11, 185, defensive back, Durham, NC, Southern Durham)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Mittman was a 2023 Shrine Bowl participant. He possesses great athleticism and leadership. He graduated early and enrolled at A&T. He chose A&T over multiple CAA schools, Ivy League institutions and service academies. Both parents are Aggie alumni."
High School: He made 152 career tackles, including 69 unassisted and six for loss. He also intercepted six passes during his career. As a Durham Hillside High School junior, Mittman recorded 40 tackles, four INTs, five pass breakups and nine pass defenses. He also returned a punt for a touchdown.
Noah Okoye
(6-6, 310, offensive lineman, Bowie, Md., Archbishop Carroll)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "With Noah's size and athleticism, he will bring power and toughness to the offensive line."
High School: Okoye participated in the Saint James Senior Bowl.
Jaylen Roseboro
(6-1, 180, defensive back, Stanley, NC, East Lincoln)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Roseboro is a two-sport athlete with excellent speed and athletic ability. His father, Jay, is an Aggie Football Alum."
High School: Roseboro earned All-American honors in track and field and was a Queen City All-Star participant.
Noah Sanders
(6-2, 215, Stafford, Va., Brook Point, University of Delaware)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Sanders is athletic and has a big arm."
High School: Sanders ranked as a 3-star quarterback and the 49th-ranked player out of Virginia coming out of high school. He started four years and was a three-year captain at Brook Point. He threw for 1,361 yards and rushed for 420 yards during one season.
Braxton Thomas
(6-3, 220, quarterback, Sarasota, Fla., Riverview)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Braxton is a dual-threat quarterback with excellent size, accuracy and play-making ability."
High School: He completed 244 passes for 3,594 yards and 35 touchdowns, posting a passer rating of 88.8.
Khristian Tyson
(6-1, 185, defensive back, Greensboro, NC, Grimsley)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "He brings length, toughness and athleticism to the Aggies defense. Tyson was highly recruited with offers from several Group of Five schools."
Keon Webb
(6-6, 310, defensive lineman, Riverview, Fla., Summer)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Webb brings elite length and size to the defensive lineman room. He has athleticism, plays with a high motor and has a huge upside."
Jayden Williams
(6-0, 230, linebacker, Richmond, Va., Trinity Episcopal)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "Williams is a powerful and explosive athlete who earned All-State accolades."
High School: Williams could help in that category after capturing two state championship titles at Trinity Episcopal High School. During one season, they went undefeated in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA).
Corbin Wilson
(6-3, 205, wide receiver, High Point, NC, Southwest Guilford)
Coach Brown Breakdown: "He has all the skills you need to be a great wide receiver. With his basketball background, he has the elite body control that allows him to go up and pluck the football out of the sky over any defender. Corbin has speed, toughness, ball skills, and the ability to jump out of the gym. His football work allows him to get open when running routes and getting off press coverage."
High School: He had 70 receptions for 1,270 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had 2,899 all-purpose yards.
